Privacy Policy

Last updated 6 August 2026. Applies to Lila for Android, package com.webstei.lilanotes.

The short version: Lila collects nothing about you, and nothing you write ever leaves your phone. There is no account, no cloud, no analytics and no advertising. There is no server for your notes to go to, because we did not build one.

1. What we collect

Nothing. Not your name, not your email address, not an advertising identifier, not your location, not your contacts, not usage statistics, and nothing about the content of your notes.

We do not ask you to create an account, and there is no way to sign in. We have no database of users, because we have no users we could identify.

2. Where your notes live

Your notes, titles, categories, tags and settings are stored in the app's own private storage on your device. On Android, that area is not readable by other apps.

They are never uploaded, synced, backed up to us, or transmitted anywhere. Lila works fully offline and does not need an internet connection to do anything.

Because there is no cloud copy, if you uninstall the app or lose your phone, your notes are gone. That is the honest trade for a diary that nobody else can reach. Use Backup & Restore in Settings to keep a copy somewhere you control.

3. Permissions

Lila does not request access to your camera, microphone, location, contacts, calendar, phone, or your device's shared storage. The microphone and storage permissions are explicitly blocked in the app's manifest.

4. Sharing a note as a picture

When you tap Share on a note, Lila draws a picture of that note into a temporary file on your own device and hands it to Android's standard share sheet. You then choose which app receives it.

We do not upload the picture and we do not see where you send it. Once it reaches another app, that app's own privacy policy applies to it, not ours.

5. Backup files

Backup & Restore writes a file containing your notes to a location you pick, using Android's own file picker. That file is yours. We never receive it, and we cannot read it. Keep it somewhere safe, because anyone who can open the file can read your notes.

6. Advertising and analytics

There are none. Lila contains no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK, no crash reporting service and no tracking of any kind. No third-party code in the app phones home.

If this ever changes in a future version, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the change will be described in the app's release notes.

7. Children

Lila is a notes app suitable for general audiences. Because we collect no personal information from anyone, we collect none from children either.

8. Your rights

Laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you the right to access, correct, export and delete the personal data a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to hand over or erase.

You remain in full control of your own copy: every note can be edited or deleted in the app, deleted notes sit in Trash for 30 days and can be removed permanently at any time, and uninstalling the app removes all of it from your device.

9. This website

This site is static. It sets no cookies, loads no fonts or scripts from other domains, and runs no analytics. It is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which may keep standard server access logs. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

10. Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes on Google Play.
